Lot of developers coming into Firebase have a specific platform/use case/API in mind, and this is what the documentation currently attempts to address. For those who are looking for a more end-to-end example, they are all listed here: https://firebase.google.com/docs/samples/ (each link will take you to a quickstart repo on GitHub or a detailed codelab tutorial).

Server-side use cases are not covered in these samples right now except for a few scenarios involving Cloud Functions. But we can certainly look into it.
